When Nikon Scan 3 is installed, the device drivers are also installed. (Administrator privileges are required to install and uninstall Nikon Scan 4.0.0.) Under Mac OS X, any user including those without “Computer administrator” can use Nikon Scan 4.0. (When installing or uninstalling Nikon Scan 4.0.0, log in as the “Computer administrator” under Windows XP or “Administrator” under Windows 2000 Professional). Any user including those without “Computer administrator” (Windows XP) or “Administrator” (Windows 2000 Professional) can use Nikon Scan 4.0.0. This software requires Administrator privileges to install and operate. Turn off all virus-scanning software and exit any application that may be running before proceeding with this installation. Please review the readme file in the Nikon Scan 3.1.2 installer. Firewire version update may be required for your system. Nikon Scan 3.1.2 cannot be run in "Classic" mode.
